THE VIEWING AND PARTY- DUKES

On the 5th of July, the film that Suzy, Tommie and Daisy had worked so hard on, was viewed at The Dukes in Lancaster. It was a really exiting day for everybody, and all the people who were involved in the project had invited family and friends. Suzy had put up large pictures that some of the photographers had taken and a laptop projected the finished (brilliant) magazine on the wall. Copies of the magazine in the various stages as it progressed were on small on tables and the bar was open selling food and drink as well as a table with lots of little red & black cupcakes with N/A on and strawberry cocktail drinks. Suzy had obviously been working really hard!
The viewing was at four thirty and everybody went into the large cinema to watch. When everybody one was seated Suzy came on to the stage and explained about the project and film and said thank you to people.
Then we watched the film, which was really good. Divalka, who was presenting the show, was really confident and the film was so professional. I think everybody was impressed.
Afterwards everybody had drinks and cake and every sudent who had been working in the project was given the Magazine, N/A.
I think that it was a brilliant day and we all had a great time.
I just want to thank Suzy for all the work she has put into our project on behalf of everybody on the project. THANK YOU !!! :)

EDITING 2 - DT3

On Wednesday 2 July in the evening at DT3, Suzy and Tommie worked on editing the film. Although they had all the footage from the days filming with Divolka they didnt didn't get round to editing any of this. They just had to make sure the DT3 footage of the dance and music night was done. This was more complicated because we had two cameras filming the same thing and wanted to cut between the two, synchronizing each bit was a slow process but the final result looks great. Then they arranged to go back and attempt to finish the film on Thursday.

MAGAZINE WORK- LRGS

On Wednesday the 2nd of July, Suzy went to LRGS to work on the look of the magazine with Tommie. He hand wrote all of the titles with a quill type pen and found some images he wanted to use for Robert and Jacks piece. Then Suzy showed Tommie how to use InDesign, the software we are using to layout the magazine. He picked it up really quickly so they managed to get most of the content in digital format and on the right pages!

MORE FILMING- LGGS.

On Tuesday the 1st of July, Suzy went to LGGS to finish the filming with Divolka and Daisy. Divolka did all of her pieces to camera again because it was such a lovely day and they thought it would look good in the film. They also developed the script for the voice over and recorded this on film and also as a plain audio file with a device called 'zoom'. Divolka and Daisy also made Suzy a poster. It was great to finally finish all the filming and know that it could all go into post production.

MAGAZINE EDITING- LGGS

On Monday the 30th of June, Chris went to the Girls Grammar School to edit some of the magazine with Ellis. The went through each article and checked it for spelling and grammar and any bits that didn't make sense. They also had to make sure each article fitted into the space allocated for it in the mag. This was so it could be could be passed on to Rowan and Tommie to be placed in the digital copy.

EDITING WORKSHOP-DT3.

On Saturday the 28th of June, there was an editing workshop at DT3 which Suzy, Daisy and Tommie went to to edit the film. It took much longer than expected to do the editing, and they got the first section of the film done but they have quite a bit more film to do .... which Suzy finds a bit scary really considering the screening is only a weeks time away! The guy at DT3 taught everyone how to use the software, and it was great of him to give up his Saturday to sit in a teeny and very hot room clicking away on the computer. Daisy and Tommie picked up the software really quickly and edited all of the footage from Karen Guthrie's interview and Robert and Jacks day a few weeks ago. They realised that they would only be able to include a small amount of the footage that had been recorded, so the film will only include a few of the things we have been doing over the month this project has been taking place.
